One of my favorite ways to keep math fun is to incorporate storybooks into math lessons. I love this list of living math books to teach kids subtraction!
Picture books can teach subtraction concepts and keep your students engaged in the lessons. They can also help ease math anxiety and expose kids to math in real life situations!
