Hungry Caterpillar Tracing Printables

The worksheets in this pack are perfect for covering quite a few important skills. From tracing to hand-eye coordination and more, you don’t want to miss these!

PREPARING THE WORKSHEETS

Because these worksheets are print-and-go, all you’ve got to do is print them out and present them to your little ones.

If you’d like to make them reusable, print them on cardstock and laminate them for durability. Have children complete the tracing pages with a dry erase marker. Wipe them clean when complete, and use them over and over again.

WHAT’S INCLUDED?

These free printables include four tracing pages. Each one features the hungry caterpillar looking for some yummy food to eat.

Each page has multiple lines – curved, straight, and zig zag – for little ones to trace from left to right.

COMPLETING THE ACTIVITY

Students will start at the caterpillar on the left side of the page. They’ll trace each line from left to right to help the caterpillar find his food.

Using Tracing Pages with Young Learners

Tracing pages are a great way to help young children with their pre-writing skills. They can use the tracing pages to learn how to control their hand and make the correct strokes for each letter.

How Else Can You Use These Worksheets?

Scissor Practice: While these pages are designed for tracing practice, you can use them for scissor practice, as well. Have them cut the lines from left to right.

Colors: Each food is a different color. Have kids identify the color of each one. Can they find two of each color?

Beginning Sounds: As kids identify each food on the page, can they identify the beginning sound?

Nutrition: This is a great opportunity to discuss healthy foods. Can your child identify the foods that are considered healthy foods and those that are considered snacks/desserts?
